Jeremie is probably Haiti's most isolated town. The city is almost derelict, with the streets lined with empty factories and ramshackle houses. In better times, Jeremie was known as the 'City of Poets', due to its literary contributions from the mulatto class. However, all of that now is a very distant memory.
Although, Jeremie is quite a forgotten town, it is very pretty being set in a bay with piercing white beaches and tropical green foliage.
There are a couple of hotels in town. One being the Hotel La Cabane and the other is the Auberge Inn.
Most probably, the best place to eat in town is the Castillo Disco, which is a terrace restaurant overlooking the main center in town. The meals here are inexpensive and tasty.
